This Privacy Policy describes how Redacto ("we", "us" or "our") handles your data when you use our Chrome browser extension.

1. Information We Do Not Collect. We respect your privacy. Our extension does not collect, transmit, or store your sensitive data on external servers. We do not use analytics tools to track your online behavior.
2. How the Extension Works. Redacto processes text that you type or paste on supported sites (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Google AI Studio, GigaChat, Alice AI, DeepSeek) and in the extension's side panel. Processing includes local entity detection (including a built-in NER model running via ONNX Runtime and WASM), replacement with markers, and restoration from markers. File processing (.txt, .docx, .xlsx, .csv) is also performed locally. Text and files are never sent to external servers from the extension.
3. Data Stored Locally. The extension uses the browser’s built-in storage APIs only for local user settings and temporary session state required for masking features:

• chrome.storage.local — local masking policy settings;
• chrome.storage.session — temporary current-session and current-tab state.

This data is stored only in the user’s browser. The extension developer does not have access to it, and it is not sent to external servers.

1. How We Use Data. Locally stored data is used strictly within the extension to support masking and restoration features in your browser.
2. Data Sharing and Third Parties. Since we do not collect any data on our servers, we do not share, sell, or exchange user information with third parties.
3. Compliance with Chrome Web Store Policies. The use and transfer to any other application of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements (https://developer.chrome.com/docs/webstore/program-policies/limited-use/). Redacto complies with all Limited Use restrictions and does not use your data to develop, improve, or train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
4. Your Control Over Data. You have full control over the data stored by the extension. You can delete it at any time by removing the extension from your browser or clearing your browser's local storage.
5. Changes to This Privacy Policy. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we introduce features that require data collection, we will update this policy and request your explicit consent.
